The Melbourne Monologues

A Cabaret of Souls

26th November – 2nd December 2018

A Flower For Moses Melbourne Writers Theatre Clare Mendes

THE MELBOURNE MONOLOGUES was the second production in our Season 2018. This was the fourth year of this popular monologue showcase, the show blurb for which ran as follows:

A curious clown. A cabaret queen. And a beautiful bearded man. Inspired by the atmosphere and fun of a grand circus, this Cabaret of Souls sees esteemed local actors Alec Gilbert and Ruth Katerelos joined by a collection of rising stars. Writers Bruce Shearer, Alison Knight, Neil McGovern, Brooke Fairley, Martin Rice and Christine Croyden have produced a collection of scripts that promise a rich journey, with stories ranging from the darkly comical to the dramatic. Director Elizabeth Walley, applauded for the ‘care and sensitivity’ with which she directed the 2017 production of ‘The Melbourne Monologues’, is thrilled to be directing this 2018 showcase and is looking forward to providing audiences with a deeply immersive experience.
